Meeting the CBC and learning to ride these cargo bikes has been a revelation for me. Hooking up with them solved a major challenge in my life: paying the bills with work that actually feels meaningful. Living in NYC can be a crushing, depressing experience. There is so much dehumanizing labor purposed towards creating convenience for the already wealthy. Enjoying my work, and doing it with people whom have become my friends feels like a daily act of resistance. Every time I ride a cargo bike, I am an advertisement for an alternative, sustainable way of moving things in the city. And when I attend our meetings, I am participating in another alternative, a horizontal model for organizing work. These things have come to mean a lot to me. They leave me in a place where I’m happy to answer, often for the fifth time that day “what is that bike?”corey-bio-pic
